Sangeet

A sangeet is a pre-wedding celebration in Indian weddings, especially common in North Indian traditions, where families and friends from both sides come together for an evening of music, dance, and festivities. It’s like a musical party where loved ones perform dances all to celebrate the couple and build excitement before the wedding day. Garba is a dance from Gujarat (where Saavan’s family is from) that is a big part of the event. Bring your dancing shoes, and get ready to get down!

Logistics

Location: The event will be at the Marin Ballroom at Embassy Suites, San Rafael 101 Pkwy, San Rafael, CA 94903.
Parking: The Embassy Suites will have ample parking for the event.
Buses: Buses leave at 6:45 from Four Points Sheraton, and will be shuttling back and forth the whole night.
Timing: 7PM - 11PM

Attire is formal wear (Indian or Western). There will not be a place to change between ceremony and reception. The event will be outdoors, and it can cool down in the evenings (expect a high temperature of 70F and a low temperature of 55F). Be ready to dance!

Parking: If you are bringing your own car, Deer Park Villa will have sufficient parking for all vehicles.
Buses: Buses leave at 2:00 from Four Points Sheraton, don’t be late for the bus as there will only be one group leaving!
